On March 26 we celebrated the 5th anniversary of station MWV! It’s time for an Ebenezer—and no, I don’t mean Scrooge! The words eben-ezer in Hebrew means “stone of help,” setup to commemorate the help that God provided to his people.

“Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the LORD has helped us.’” (1Sam. 7:12)

We praise the Lord for five years that MWV has been on the air, covering South America, Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia with the good news. MWV is particularly strategic as it reaches regions that cannot be reached by KNLS—like the entire Arab world in the middle east and north Africa. I get excited thinking about the remote villages, mountains and rural areas that do not have access to TV, AM/FM radio or the Internet, but can receive Shortwave loud and clear.

We remember with gratitude the people that God used to make it happen—from those who dreamed of it and prayed about it, to those who took a step of faith and started such a huge undertaking not knowing how things will go, to those who worked day and night in challenging circumstances and overcame insurmountable obstacles to finish the project, to those who dedicate their lives to keep it running. God is the great architect, and we are honored to be part of His work.

Five years is a milestone. Think 60 months, 1,826 days, over 22,000 of broadcasting hours, in 7 language services. We hear from listeners all over the world, but not until heaven that we’ll realize the full extent of the harvest. In a fast-changing world that faces unprecedented challenges, we must continue to reach out to people, to shine the Light into darkness and to rejoice in what God is doing.
