The Equip Conference was a blessing to us in many ways. We were blessed to offer our tools to equip others to share Christ with Latin Americans, and at the same time we were blessed to meet other Christians that were willing to share what they had to help equip us to maximize our effectiveness.
My wife and I are thankful for the opportunity to teamwork with Rex and Brenda Morgan at the Equip Conference in Orlando, Florida, to enthusiastically share with others our vision and tools to reach others with the message of Christ. Many visited our booth inquiring about our media ministry and how it is impacting the Spanish speaking world. Also, we were able to share how we are able to partner with other ministries and individuals for a greater impact in our world. Some got acquainted with our La Voz Alegre App for the first time and downloaded it. We encouraged them to share these radio segments with others that do not know Jesus yet.
One pleasant surprise was that by the end of the second day, all the maps depicting the far-reaching signal of World Christian Broadcasting were gone. People were asking questions and we, to the best of our abilities, responded and provided written information in the form of brochures and cards. Some gave us words of encouragement and offer to pray for God to continue to bless what we are doing.
God responded to those prayers very quickly by allowing us to meet likeminded Christians who had similar ministries and were willing to share with us knowledge and tools that we might use to reach more people with our message.
One of those Christians was Chase Turner of The Herald of Truth who shared how to use virtual technology to drive more people to our App or website. Such technology is called “Digital Geo-fencing.” It is a well-known strategy among different business models to send adds to people’s mobiles when they enter a specific area that has been previously targeted. The Herald of Truth has been effectively using it, and are willing to provide guidance and resources for us to use it.
My partner, Rex Morgan, announced that this strategy is going to be used and tested in Mt. Dora, FL at the Vida Frida Festival. This is a Hispanic festival celebrating art, food, and culture. We request your prayers that souls may be reached for Christ.
At the booth we met Isaac Rifa and his wife Maria Elena. Isaac is an old student of Rex from 22 years ago, who now is a minister in Lancaster, PA. He was excited to hear about the radio ministry and manifested his desire to start a radio station with the help of his congregation. In the meantime he is willing to be trained and start recording programs for us. We are excited to see what God has in store in the next few months.
Rex and Brenda Morgan also met Ryan Isaiah, a talented media creator. He and his wife Janet are both bilingual and have a great love for the Lord and ministry. The plan is to meet with Ryan to pray and explore where God is going to take us from there.
The purpose of the Equip Conference is expressed on their website: EQUIP is a conference dedicated to encouraging and equipping the local church to make disciples. We are not a local church, but certainly we want to contribute to the process of making disciples. And no doubt, we encouraged others and were encouraged by others; we helped equip others and were equipped by others. Mission accomplished!
