In the “Book of Books” program this month, we study The Book of Galatians. Although this book contains only six chapters, it’s one of the most interesting and profitable books of the New Testament. It is an interesting book to be studied by those who are not Christians as well as by those who are. Most likely Paul is the author of the book of Galatians and few, if any , will deny. It is admitted even by the higher critics that Paul is the messenger used by the Spirit of God to give to the world this valuable letter. There are many lessons in this interesting book, yet the writer never loses sight of the thought that “Christianity is God’s final religion”. From the first chapter to the last, Paul keeps this theme constantly before them. God has given other religions, but the time has come when these have served their purpose and the final revelation is made that gives to man, that which God had in mind from the beginning.
Many listeners ask: “How should Christians respond to the coronavirus pandemic?” And we discuss this matter in one of our programs. We believe that most importantly, Christians, as always, should be open to opportunities to help people in need and that is no less true during continuing pandemic times. It will be more challenging to offer assistance with the social distancing and isolation rules in place, but when the opportunity presents itself, do not hesitate to help. Also, very important – do not panic! God is still sovereign. He is in control. Nothing that is happening is a surprise to Him. Nor is it something that He has not allowed to occur for some reason. A reason hidden from our superficial sight. At times, it seems that everything in your world is falling apart, and society does not provide support but always remember that God is the final judge, and He will provide final solutions.
Why must we forgive? Jesus was unequivocal on this point: As his followers, we are required to forgive those who sin against us (Matthew 6:15). But what if we don’t feel like we’ve forgiven them? How do we know, then, if we have truly forgiven? The Holy Spirit, thank God, often enables people to forgive even though they are not sure how they did it. But forgiving and knowing that we’ve truly forgiven, comes easier when we understand the realities of forgiveness.
