Throughout Russia, for centuries there was no revival, no spiritual movement and no religious literature was created. The history of the Orthodox Church had no religious progress, there was stagnation, transformed into principle. It was even taught that the Church could not change. The moral and spiritual condition of the people could not develop and they became gradually demoralized. But everything changed in the sixties of 19th century. The Evangelical Movement began to rise in different parts of Russia. We are telling you this story in programming “Life and Spiritual Work of Ivan Stepanovich Prokhanov.”
“What should I do to be saved?” Often listeners ask this core question of spiritual life. We are fully aware of the responsibility as we direct your attention in the study of this great question. In our programming we hope to give listeners all the Bible has to say on this and to point their minds to enough of the teaching of the Bible and to assist them in such an understanding of the question that they will be able to take their own Bibles and study it by themselves.
In today’s world—full of negative thoughts and hostile intentions—it’s hard to find peace. Any kind of peace. It has gotten so bad that people choose to turn their heads the other way and close their hearts when they hear bad news or see a person or even a nation in distress. Because negative things are all around us all the time, we would rather focus on ourselves and our immediate piece of the world than to think about needs of others. Since we cannot help everybody, we’d better help ourselves, right? Well…, no, not entirely. The Bible offers much more in our attitude toward our inner world. We discuss it with Damir Kramaric in his new series, “Joy of Peacemaking.”
Moses’ story is told in the Book of Exodus, but it starts in Genesis with the story of Abraham and his family with whom God makes a covenant. Generations later the Biblical Moses draws the extended family together in the form of a nation with a structure and code of law given to him on Mount Sinai. We continue to study the Old Testament in the series, “Book of Books.”
We have a number of projects under development that might be interesting to you. Come and download numerous Christian books, listen to our programs, see several video lessons based on Russian Christian art, take a look at pictures of beautiful Alaska.
