The Book of Revelation seems to cause the most controversy of any book of the Bible. Few people argue over the value of the Old Testament’s moral teachings or the urgency of its prophetic messages. Most also agree that Jesus’ teachings are profound and relevant and that the letters of the New Testament contains some of the most inspiring exhortations ever written. But Revelation, with its alarms of impending judgment and descriptions of Christ’s glorious eternal rule draws out many speculations and wildly diverging interpretations. In our program “Book of Books” we discuss our point of view on this subject and invite you, our listeners, to study the last book of New Testament.
We continue our series about prayer. Some people think that we have to ask all minute things from God, but is it the right approach? Let’s look on Jesus attitude towards prayer.
In the New Testament we learn how to live as Christians—the “right life” that God has revealed that man should live. There are seventeen letters written to congregations and individuals telling them of the life that is pleasing unto God. These begin with Romans and close with Jude. Taking the Old Testament as the gradual unfolding of God’s eternal purpose and the New Testament as the climax and completion of this revelation, we see that “according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:2,4)
We continue a new series of program for our little listeners, “Simple Things about God,” in which we explain to kids the basic ideas of the New Testament. Bring your youngsters to listen these segments!
There are many things in life that may appear to be unfair or unjust, the explanation of which the Lord has not given, either in the book of Job or in any other book of the Bible. Vindication is not always granted in time, but why God has reserved that for eternity remains a secret with him.
