Hello to everyone who accompanies us monthly in this website, and I am grateful to talk a little about what has happened in recent months. In December we did a promotion for our listeners by giving away five shirts. Dozens of listeners got in touch, sent their reception reports, and competed for one of the shirts from the prize draw.
We made the draw and the winners were: Antonio Argolo, Pedro Castro, Danilo Nonato, Antônio Ribeiro and Reginaldo Anunciação. Everyone was very excited and happy after receiving their shirts. Each of these winners lives in different parts of Brazil, Antônio lives in northeastern Brazil, Pedro and the others in different cities in southeastern Brazil. Pedro Castro called us and said: “Hello Romulo today I received a pleasant surprise from the post office, the shirt you sent arrived and I really liked it. It is very beautiful by the way, thanks for giving us!” Pedro also told us that the quality of our signal has arrived in his city with excellent quality, and he even sent us a video.
In addition to the shirts, we sent a dozen QSL Cards and Bible correspondence courses to those who accepted to receive them. We are happy to be able to send these courses and to know that people have also been blessed with a powerful message of salvation, a message that brings life and life in abundance, as the Bible tells us.
Antônio Argolo, who is a regular listener of our program, is a teacher and lives in northeastern Brazil. He wrote to us like this:
I have always been a critic of the religious system, because the story of Jesus fascinated me very recently. I see an extraordinary contribution in the Word Alegre programs, their messages are current and bring examples committed to the thought of Jesus to the contemporary world.
I really like the readings of the Bible at the beginning of the transmission, in addition, I include listening to the “Moments of Reflection”. I have no disagreement about the theological approaches to matters. I like many of his objective messages in addition to other programs and songs that deserve praise and respect for the commitment to not deviate from Jesus’ ways. It is a very original program, I am encouraged by your messages.
The Bible tells us in Luke 8:5-15
5 A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trampled down, and the birds of the air devoured it.6 Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture.7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.8 But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.”When He had said these things He cried,“He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
The Purpose of Parables
9Then His disciples asked Him, saying, “What does this parable mean?” 10 And He said,“To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that “Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.”
The Parable of the Sower Explained
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of [c]temptation fall away.14 Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.15 But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.
The Bible has already warned us what we should do and that is what we have done, sowing the Word of God in all these hearts in Brazil and in the world, each in its own way, each in its native language, we never stop spreading this beautiful message of salvation, the Good News of Jesus. As this biblical passage says, we don’t know which soil it will fall on, but what God tells us is to go out to sow.
The Bible also tells us in 1 Corinthians 3: 6-9:
6 I planted,Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.
