May is always special! That’s because we celebrate Mother’s Day in Brazil and in several countries around the world. For this reason, we started a campaign with several posts about this special day. The announcements were made throughout the week before, one per day, on Instagram and Facebook. We had good interaction with our listeners and had more than 5,206 listeners reached by our publications and also the engagement of 1,119
Also, during the month of May we started a new Series with Isabel Dante talking about anxiety. Isabel has been a psychologist since 2012 and specializes in EMDR therapy.
The Federal Council of Nursing website says:
Brazil faces a second pandemic, this time in Mental Health. The emotional impact of family losses, the feeling of fear, lack of socialization and instability at work increased the level of stress and psychological distress of Brazilians. “The increase in anxiety and depressive disorders is a trend in recent years, but it reached much more alarming levels after the health crisis”, says the coordinator of the National Commission of Nursing in Mental Health (Conasem/Cofen), Professor Dorisdaia Humerez.
In view of this data, we find it pertinent to start this new series talking about this subject and calling people to turn to God during this time of new challenges.
We also continue recording and translating into Portuguese the scripts made by Gayle Crowe entitled Encounters with God. Series that through everyday examples connect us with the story and life of Jesus.
Another series we are continuing is on the History of Israel, with Allen Dutton Jr. We are now talking about the promised land, more precisely in the book of Joshua.
We also continue to respond to our listeners through letters, emails and cell phone text messages. This month we received several contacts from Brazil, and also others from countries such as Colombia, Italy, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, among others.
I want to highlight some of the feedback we’ve received about our program. Rodrigo Denoune says: “Your program Palavra Alegre is very interesting and I am really enjoying listening to it. Congratulations to the entire radio team. I’m listening to you now. God bless you all.”
Alison Ramos also in contact via email said: “Hello Romulo. It is always a great pleasure to hear the WCBC broadcast in Portuguese. Hugs to you and the entire WCB Team. I found the transmission in Portuguese, on channel 9.765Khz. I was changing songs while looking for a radio so I stopped at your broadcast. I liked very much.”
Antonio Argolo from the Northeast of Brazil posted on his facebook a thank you for the shirt sent, he is our regular listener and he said: “I want to thank my friend Rômulo Dante for the gift, a commemorative t-shirt for the 4 years of the Portuguese Service of Rádio Palavra Alegre, Worldwide Christian Transmission of Madagascar – Africa.
