How important it is to enjoy good times with friends and close people. This past month our time in Brazil, Andy Baker, President of World Christian Broadcasting had the privilege of having lunch with all our staff and people who speak Portugese.
Andy traveled over 20 hours by plane from Nashville. He arrived in Belo Horizonte Brazil on Saturday. On Sunday, one of our employees, Paula Resende, welcomed and served a delicious lunch for all of us. We had the opportunity to hear Andy Baker talk about the importance of our mission. He spoke about the antennas in Madagascar, Alaska, about our team in Franklin, TN, about the producers and the other 7 languages and finally about the challenges of each station. Really a very special time.
Andy stayed with us until Friday, and throughout the week we were in several special places, among them Ouro Preto, MG where we met with another one of our collaborators Danilo Nonato. We took the opportunity to also record a little bit with Andy talking about his impressions about our country, Brazil.
Andy Baker and Romulo’s family
This audio will be used during the 40th anniversary week of our KNLS Station in Alaska. That’s right, this month, more precisely on the 23rd of July we will be celebrating another birthday. These are important milestones of our broadcasts in Alaska and of course also in Madagascar.
As for our programming, we continue recording the texts of Encounters with Jesus by Gayle Crowe, also the series The family of God that Angelo has been doing and finally Devotional for Women with Gisele Stefan.
We also continued with recordings on the history of Israel with Allen Dutton Jr and dramatized readings from the book of Genesis with Cornelius Augustus.
We received numerous contacts from listeners from various regions of Brazil and the world and I want to highlight two. The first is by Renan Aragão from northeast Brazil. He said that he always keeps up with our schedule and that we have been doing a great job spreading the Gospel.
Renato Andre, also from the northeast, said that we are to be congratulated for having started the program about Anxiety with Isabel Dante and the importance of talking about this topic. He highlights the number of suicides and how anxious people became since the pandemic.
We continue with the work of disseminating our Palavra Alegre app as well as boosts, new works of art on our Facebook, Instagram and soon on our website.
Finally, I want to thank and remember all those who have worked and left their contribution during all these years at WCB, MWV and KNLS, always remembering the verse in 1 Corinthians 15:58:Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
