War and pandemic occupy headlines on major media. War in Ukraine continues and causes anxiety and worry. We draw few lessons from the Book of Ezekiel which records the war raged by Nebuchadnezzar and how God used the war to enable Israelites understand their sins of injustice toward their own people and idolatry against God who saved them from slavery in Egypt and established covenant with them. We encourage listeners to think about the fact that God is ruling human history from beginning to end. He allows wars to occur, sometimes, as His tools for punishing the evil and for calling people to repent their sins.
The Pandemic continues to be an issue around the world. Because the Chinese government takes a more cautious public health policy, we offered prayers and asked God to bless its success. Just like the war, the pandemic was another tool which God used to bring people to the realization of their sins during biblical time. Prophet Ezekiel’s announcing of God’s prophecies and admonishments are significant reminders to the people of this age worldwide during which the Covid pandemic has claimed more than six million lives and it truly is a global issue of life and death. Please pray for listeners that this tragedy will cause some of them listening and contemplating carefully, to return to God faithfully.
God’s calling is not just repentance, He wants people cherishing our relationship with our Creator. God has our best interest in mind, He calls us to love each other and stay faithful to Him. While people around the world are stressful and anxious due to the war and pandemic, we have been intentionally providing true stories of love and faith by Christians today in our daily program. We pray that our program could serve as a beacon of light representing God and draw people toward Him in this difficult time.
It’s summer time and staff of the Chinese language service are busy with various family responsibilities. Shumei just helped her daughter, Alice, relocate to the University of California Berkeley where she will begin her graduate study. Another daughter, Teresa, is expecting a baby this month. In a few weeks Shumei will go to California again to help take care of her grandson for few weeks. Edward and Salina are taking care of their mother who is aging and not doing well physically. Edward’s siblings are visiting their Mom these few days with their children caring for grandmom for few days who is now under hospice care.
We are thankful for this godly opportunity to serve Chinese listeners around the world. We thank God for each listener, that they would spend their precious time listening to our programs and visiting our website. Please pray to God that He will help us abundantly with program material and that He will bring volunteers to enrich our programs so that we could best serve our dear listeners and website visitors.
