The Beginning of A New Year
What Is New
We are grateful for embarking two new projects at the beginning of 2024. Dr. Terry Briley, a distinguished Bible scholar recently retired from Lipscomb University, Nashville, contributes many of his writings over the course of one decade to World Christian Broadcasting. This January we give them a new life through translation into Chinese by Philip. The final products, both the Chinese scripts and recordings, will appear on the Chinese website, besides their appearance on our daily radio program.Mr. Enoch Thweatt, a faithful veteran missionary to the Chinese people worldwide, donates his new book in the digital format to World Christian Broadcasting including his most recent publication, “A Circle of the Clouds”, which already has its Chinese version translated by Dr. Liping Du. A selection of excerpts will appear on our Chinese website with a link to the book which will be stored on cloud. Mr. Kok-Hai Tan who designed and set up our Chinese website will assist the technical aspects of this project.
Christmas 2023 left us with an exciting anticipation. Over two dozens of Chinese Bible were on their ways to listeners who requested for a copy. About a quarter of them have notified us of the arrival of the Bible. They are happy and thankful! Please pray for understanding and continuous correspondence between them and us because they want to know more about God.
Shu-Mei had her daughters home for Christmas, and her grandson is to pay her another visit in January which truly is something for her to look forward too. We are very grateful that each time he visits Tennessee, Shu-Mei brings him to our operation center, a joyful reminder of God’s continuous blessings to our dear co-workers. We had a very cold spill in January. Most of us worked from home due to the ice and snow. Gratefully, Philip manages to gain experience in driving, and he has been able to drive back and forth safely. Edward officiated the wedding for his daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Nicolas, in January. We thank God for preparing them for each other for their lifelong journey together. Please pray that Jesus will shine in their marriage and family.
