Hebrews and how practical Hebrews is in solving daily problems he confronted. Mr. Lin, a Library Director of a Technical School, shared his insight of how God use numbers to help him remember Truth with which he deals challenges in life.

One important goal of ours is that we hope listeners would want to read the Bible after they hear our program. Or, just listen to it! Old Testament Bible Reading is the biggest project we have taken on for 2019. Deuteronomy was just completed in May, and history books of the Old Testament will begin in June. As we do it, a normal working day begins with prayer at 9:00. After the prayer a half day usually is spent on recording the Bible. Familiarizing the text and checking pronunciation of particular words go first. Reading and recording come second, followed by redoing all the mistakes.

Shumei, then, takes the recording to editing, which includes cut-and-paste of the mistakes, listening to the completed chapter file again for the sake of examining any hidden mistakes, saving the completed audio file to the server for radio program log, and finally transforming the audio file from wave form to mp3 format for website usages.

While you learn what Shumei does for the Chinese Bible Reading project, she also helps recording for other language services besides the Chinese programming. Technically concentrated as her daily job is, Shumei is gifted as a creative writer as well, and she loves to write and to produce for Chinese listeners. One inner departmental development is that Salina and Ed will learn how to record, edit files, save files to audio vault, and to do logs so that Shumei would have more time contributing to writing and producing for the Chinese programming. Please pray for our efforts!

Before Easter Shumei produced a segment introducing how Easter holiday is celebrated in the U.S. Shumei posted a few colorful photo pictures on our Chinese website of egg related products on the market shelves and introduced activities involved with egg products in middle Tennessee during Easter holiday. As listeners’ curiosity of American culture is enhanced, Shumei lands on Jesus’ resurrection and its blessings as a result.

Salina continued to meet with Dr. Jim Anderson and develops programs on nurturing relationships at home. They talked about four areas of nurturing children’s emotional needs in May: 1. Help children to know they are born with God-given values 2. Help a child identify emotions and learn how to cope with them 3. Help a child to know the difference between needs and wants. 4. Spend time with children and set needed boundaries with them.

Recently Salina took two ladies to see a Christian counselor. As the counseling sessions progressed, her role decreased as a translator. While she listened and learned, Salina was convinced that our listeners can benefit from concepts and skills shared in the counseling sessions. Some examples: When the husband is not doing right, what actions should the wife take? How does a wife obtain joy during times of suffering when the husband is the cause of sufferings? How does a wife deal with depression in marriage? Please pray God’s blessings for Salina and her writings.
