Shumei has been transcribing a series titled Pause, written by the late William Hobby. Hobby’s series has generated interest among listeners, asking for his CD or scripts. We are thankful that Shumei is now making it available on our website, so that listeners can download Hobby’s practical living skills inspired by the word of God.
Salina continues working on Zhenyou Guo’s disciple training material. The focus of this month is on reading God’s word for the reception of personal guidance from God. This series of eight lessons aims to build a daily spiritual habit of personal walk with God. Mr. Guo encourages listeners to start the day first by reading the Bible. The purpose of the reading is to allow God to speak through his word with divine guidance of what he wants us to do in action. The emphasis of such reading of the Scripture is not comprehension by the exercise of our mind. Instead, the emphasis of our reading is to worship and to communicate with God by the exercise of our spirit. As our spirit comes to the presence of God, we sense our personal relationship with Him and we sense specific messages from His Holy Spirit. Our interaction with the Holy Spirit is vital to our pursuit of God’s image in Jesus and vital to our service to people.
This month our daily program concluded sharing truth from the Book of Revelation, which gives us plenty of opportunities to encourage listeners to be prepared for the end of the world that Jesus says will surely occur. There are signs in nature and among humanity written by God’s Spirit in the Revelation accounts. When observed, the signs mean to signal warning to mankind that the end is coming nearer. Such kind of notice intensifies the urgency for preparation.
God wrote the Book of Revelation to protect and to love people. He truly cares about the wellbeing of each human being, hoping we live in love and in truth for which He sent Jesus, his son, to the world. Since our broadcast of Revelation series, we have observed an increase of interest in the Bible. We thank God for the encouragement from listeners. We pray that listeners will benefit by the truth of God and by their obeying the word of God.
Opportunity
Our strength in serving listeners and website visitors relies so much on God connecting us with co-workers in the kingdom of God. Recently we met the producers of Redemption Story, Joel and James. Like our ministry, they desire people around the world to learn about our Creator God and His loving salvation through Christ Jesus. They approached us for assistance. We hope to help with their ministry in ways we could so that their biblical production telling the redemption story of Jesus may reach more ethnic groups around the world. Please pray for this opportunity of service and cooperation.
Family
We are sorry that Shumei lost her father this month. Mr. Zhou was a faithful Christian, who serve his family according to God’s instruction. All his children, including Shumei, were blessed by his love and good example. The city of Xinzhu where he lived all his life gave him and his wife a special honorable award for his excellent example of ethics and morality for his family and neighbor citizens of the city. Mr. Zhou rested in peace on June 21. Shumei flew back to be with her mother and siblings as the local church of which Mr. Zhou was a member to assist with the memorial service for her father. We all remember the fact that Shumei has never shied away from honoring her father in the presence of our church family and friends.
