What’s New

New production continues as we meet the desire of eager learners to know more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Contributors to our new production content include Philip, Shumei, Alice, Qingxin, Yanzhu, Xingshi, William Hobby, Honi Eareckson Tata, Salina, Terry Briley, and more. We pray that God will continue sending us volunteers who have a heart to reach Chinese people through our programs.

Please join us as we prayer for more volunteers to assist with program production. This brings us fresh ideas and new stories which enable our listeners to appreciate God and His works. For example, two stories in July covered the issue of employees who worked over two months without getting paid. Real people’s accounts enable listeners to see the dynamics of worker’s difficult lives and the employer’s injustice.

The first group of the editing and recording service for Redemption Story project is nearly finished. Philip’s ability to translate and edit provides excellent help preparing the final scripts for recording. Shumei tackles the main challenge in making sure the Chinese reading matches the overall time of the video length. Her experience offers tremendous help. Producers Dr. James, Mrs. Melinda, and Mr. Joel should be happy with the voice-over services provided by World Christian Broadcasting concerning this evangelism project.

Co-workers Behind the Scenes

Additional contributions made by churches are valuable to us. These sacrifices enable us to realize that World Christian Broadcasting is God’s ministry. He touches the heart of God-loving churches and connects us together in tough times to make sure gospel of Christ Jesus is heard in every corner of the world every day and for many hours through media such as the shortwave radio and internet. Summer is always a challenging season financially for any non-profit organization. Three Chinese congregations in Asia heard about our special need and they responded. We truly thank God and the Pasir Pangjang Church of Christ, Tianmu Church of Christ, and the Greater Taipei Church of Christ.

Memories of a Dear Co-worker

Enoch Thweatt, known by thousands of Chinese people as Su Baba, passed through this life into eternity late June. White Station Church of Christ held a special Celebration of Enoch’s life in July where several family members, co-workers, and friends spoke, sharing memories they treasure about Enoch in honor of God and with each other. Speakers include Edward Short, Kokhai Tan, and Edward Ho.

Enoch helped World Christian Broadcasting through the giving of money, time, and prayer.  Over the last thirty years, he introduced WCB to his associates, bringing many Chinese friends in for interviews and giving permission for us to put his book “Gathering the Clouds” on our website.  Forty programs were produced due to Enoch’s services. Andy Baker said it well, “Each time Enoch visited our operation center in Franklin, TN it reminded me of loving God and loving one another through our services.”

Salina’s trip to Taiwan

In July, Salina attended a class reunion in Taiwan. After the event, she started searching for new productions which we may use for our Chinese broadcast by other Christian media ministries. One of the early efforts is a Drama Reading of the Chinese Bible. The Chinese producer gave his consent for us to use their production. We are making efforts to contact the co-producer, Mercy and Grace Foundation, a Korean Christian ministry, hoping to obtain their permission as well. Please pray for the success of this effort to bless listeners.

Other cooperation opportunities include an interview with a husband & wife marriage and family health counselors; an evangelist’s note from the church minister of Tianmu Church of Christ; reading the book “Great Christian Scientist’s testimony of faith” by Dr. Wen Liang Zhang; Conversation with evangelist and hymn writer Wei Xing Ye, Dialogue with preacher of the younger generation Chen En Ruan, etc. Please pray that these opportunities could be materialized and enrich our program content.

Thank You

We would like to end this “What’s going on” article by thanking you all. You are a faithful coworker of this ministry. So many people are out there in the world, increasing in number at a fast rate. Each one is special to God. WCB makes the gospel of Jesus Christ available to everyone. This reality is only possible because of faithful servants like you! Very few people know about this fact, but we do. We appreciate you and your love for God and His people. Thank you for the sacrifices you have been making. Thank you for taking time to read and learn about what’s happening here with us. May God bless you and your family.
