This January yielded opportunities for connection between our listeners and us due to the availability of vaccine in fighting Coronavirus and the inauguration of President Biden. Chinese listeners visited our website and read many of our program segments related to the pandemic and the peaceful transition of power in Washington D.C. A prayer for political leaders on the Chinese website received visit from nearly six hundred listeners.
As the pandemic continues grabbing attention from around the world we also seize such opportunity to encourage the turning of listener’s heart toward our Father God who loves us. May God continue helping us to accomplish this goal, as He did in January through Dr. Jingqiong Kang of Vanderbilt University who is one of the world’s top scientists in epilepsy research. Dr. Kang’s narrative poem “Wait for Spring” posted on our website depicts global suffering and fights against Covid-19 pandemic received much attention.
A hymn crying for “God’s peace be upon the earth” introduces to listeners the attitude of repentance while petitioning for God’s salvation at the threat of pandemic. As listeners read through the lyrics based on King Solomon’s prayer in Second Chronicles 7 and hear the hymn sung by children from The Blessed Kindergarten in Malaysia, may God’s call for repentance touching the heart of many listeners. This segment received three hundred and fifty visits in January.
In January 2021 the Chinese Bible reading increased significantly on our daily broadcast. This change gives Chinese staff members time to research and produce fresh new programs. It decreases also excessive reusage of older program material repeatedly. Thus, our listeners could sense a refreshing experience as they listen to our broadcast in the first month of 2021.
More importantly, Bible Reading allows God to communicate directly to listeners. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” said God in Isaiah 55:9. Realizing and accepting God’s superiority is a significant blessing, which yields obedience that enables humble souls to avoid many mistakes and to open good possibilities in life. Bible Reading opens that avenue to such realization. A good part of the Bible such as many stories of Jesus, the law of Moses, history Books in the Bible, and wisdom Book such as the Proverbs are understandable without further explanation. God’s word is speaking life into our listeners in a significant amount every day through our broadcast. May God bless them in ways only He can do.
Bible Reading also renders impact in production. One influence comes from the first Book of the Bible, Genesis, for example. As reading proceeds through this first biblical book, God quickly illuminates the importance of family through various stories of family lives of the patriarchs. The divine blueprint of marriage to Adam and Eve, the good marriage example of Abraham and Sarah, invite arrangements of daily programming with segments produced for marriage. The same is true concerning parenting in that listeners could come to realize how practical and helpful God’s word is to their benefits.
