To the Chinese staff members, our quiet hero in the Programming Division at World Christian Broadcasting (WCB) is no doubt Mr. Real Peloquin. Mr. Peloquin is the one who actually assembles the daily programming listeners of all seven languages sent out over the airwaves, including the Chinese. Real is always the first staff person to arrive at our operation Center in Franklin daily. He actually is “The Senior” staff among all, whose service began in 1983. His daily contribution is not only indispensable to our Chinese broadcast, he even extends service of our English programming via a One-Watt transmitter from home, reaching an audience in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and around the world through internet.
In a series of Inspiration in Hymns hosted by Shumei, the uniqueness of Christian faith is under the spotlight. Christian eyes are fixed not on doing good, but on pursuing a righteous life depending solely on the grace in God’s salvation through His Son. Christians know that God allows calamity to happen for good reasons and He is with us, so we are in peace even in times of tragedies which will help make us mature in godliness. Because Christians are sons and daughters of the Creator God, we can still celebrate as we are helpless. Because of the heart of God, we see His grace in our failure, we see in people’s needs our responsibility.
In a parenting series hosted by Salina, Dr. Jim Anderson advises parents to intentionally speak God-given worth into their children, and support the godly worth by parent’s respect, attention, and unconditional acceptance. Equally important in nourishing children’s emotional maturity, parents need to intentionally teach children to identify and understand their emotion, and to distinguish needs from wants. In the area of marriage, Salina attracts listeners toward God as they listen to how three Chinese couples today choose to change their attitude after they were introduced God’s word and experience how God save their marriage consequently.
Covid-19 arouses many human emotions, good or bad. Dr. Jianwei Li, an environmental scientist at Tennessee State University, addresses in a recent interview nothing but humility in his reaction toward the pandemic. (Dr. Li is pictured with Edward Ho and ShuMei Lee on the front page of the website.) There are three awakenings in his reflection of 2020. Covid-19 sheds light on how limited science and technology actually can promise to secure. Many families find themselves at the bottom of their lives unexpected and unready while they lose their loved ones all of a sudden. As he looks at shattering environmental issues, pandemic generated problems, and different family crises on the global scale confronting humanity, Dr. Li simply makes the call that people should return to the Creator God in sincere repentance, trust, and an attitude of obedience.
