The Chinese Bible Reading project had been a major focus of our Chinese language service for the past twenty months. Our goal is to let God’s word be heard on the internet around the world by Chinese speaking people easily and anytime. Now, the project is completed. We invite you to introduce this service to your Chinese friends, a unique avenue to become familiar with God’s word and his wonderful works.
As your Chinese friends access www.smzg.org which is our Chinese website, reading of the entire Bible automatically comes up and will not stop unless they switch off. God’s word is read to listeners chapter by chapter exactly in the order they find them in the printed Bible. Every three days God’s word is read from Genesis to Revelation, and if they so choose, the reading will start over immediately. They may access the live streaming Chinese Bible Reading with their cell phone, laptop computer, ipad, or any internet accessible device.
The Chinese Bible Reading is particularly helpful to the bedridden, disabled, retired elderly people, housewives, semi-trailer truck and taxi drivers, labors whose job demands do not concentrate their minds. Once their access to the Bible reading is done, they do not need to do anything anymore. The Bible reading will go on for hours or days or years, until they turn it off. It is handy to use on their way to work, to school, grocery shopping, or as they are walking and exercising.
The Bible reading project aims at non-Christian population. Every section of the Bible gets to be heard twice weekly in a different time during the day. Due to the recurring reappearance, different genre of God’s word can create interest, incite curiosity, invite intentional Bible reading, and prayerfully lead to attending church services. The service is also a good tool to missionaries who could introduce it to those whom they visit. The evangelist might not be able to return to those who live far away from church building frequently, but our Bible reading can feed the spiritual need of the individual daily.
I would like to acknowledge deep appreciation to Charles Caudill, Andy Baker, Gayle Crowe, Edward Short, Shumei Lee, Kok Hai Tan, Hwee Choo Ang, Guat Hoon Neo, Kim Lay Tan, and each donor whose hard work, prayers, support, advice, and encouragement are indispensable to the completion of this project. Having secured live streaming Chinese Bible reading on-line will only get us to the halfway point. In order to have the Chinese speaking people get to personally use this tool whenever they want, someone has to introduce the Chinese Bible reading at www.smzg.org to him or to her. Would you please help? Thank you!
