We have received emails from our listeners in sub-Saharan Africa about what they are going through in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Over 500 nationals of Ivory Coast living in Ukraine, over 1,500 Ghanaians out of which 900 are students living in Ukraine, Morocco has over 8,000 students in Ukraine, Egypt has about 3,500 students, Nigeria has over 4,000 students, 200 Zambians, and others. Please visit your country’s embassy and find the entry point where all the indigenes are asked to meet to be conveyed to a safer destination. At World Christian Broadcasting, we are praying for you. We believe God is going to intervene in this process. We know many of you are worried, and we believe this event did not take God by surprise because he is an all-knowing God. The biblical passage we like to share with you at this difficult time is in Jeremiah 4:19-2.

My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain!
Oh, the walls of my heart!
My heart is beating wildly;
I cannot keep silent,
for I hear the sound of the trumpet,
the alarm of war.
20 Crash follows hard on crash;
The whole land is laid waste.
Suddenly my tents are laid waste,
my curtains in a moment.
21 How long must I see the standard
and hear the sound of the trumpet?

Jeremiah describes the desolation of Judah, the effect of war, the pounding, his heart beating, the uncertainty, destruction, and all the sound (alarm) of war. We know this is how all of you, your families, and your friends affected by this war feel now. We do have a word of comfort from Psalms 23:4-6.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely[b] goodness and mercy[c] shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell[d] in the house of the LORD
Forever.
