The month of February had a peak with an astronomical increase to 393 in our viewers to African Pathway programs. There were a few reports from our listeners in sub-Saharan Africa concerning the effects of droughts and floods ravaging the areas. According to UNICEF, about 45 million people in countries of Ethiopia (more than 8 million people are affected), Kenya, Somalia, Algeria (catastrophic wildfires), Eritrea, Tunisia, and Uganda (over 2,500 people have died) are in serious need of food and water. These countries also face many other economic challenges, including security, conflicts, and refugee problems. We are praying that God may intervene in providing rain so the people can grow their crops. We pray for our listeners in these countries that the spirit of God continues to guide and direct their affairs as they tune into our radio programs, and may something we say provide comfort and strength to them.

We are asking for prayers for Madagascar (tropical storm Jasmine displaced over 5,000 people), Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe (tropical storm Gombe killed over 103 people), countries going through severe storms (tropical storm Ana) that killed over 890 people. Over two million Chadians are also affected by floods, destroying all cash crops. In Nigeria, more than 600 people are reported dead as a result of one of the worst floods in the history of that country. Just recently, 76 people died when a boat carrying the flood victims capsized. In South Africa, catastrophic flooding, and severe cyclones displaced over 2.8 million people and killed over 900. Heavy rains resulting from these storms led to outbreaks of waterborne diseases (cholera, and malaria) shortage of food, and insecurity according to the reports from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

We ask you to pray for our listeners in sub-Saharan Africa. We at World Christian Broadcasting have always been interested in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and also showing concern for the well-being of our listeners across sub-Saharan Africa. We are asking God to intervene.
