Congratulations and Happy Independence Day Anniversary to the United States of America. God has blessed the USA with men and women who love freedom and have worked very hard for over 247 years to provide a country where men and women can worship freely and are able to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ without persecution. Many of the founding fathers of the United States of America were Christians. The principles of the US Constitution such as the religious freedom we enjoy today and the separation of church and state were probably influenced by the perception of Christian principles and morality inherent in the founding fathers. It is our prayer that as we spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout sub-Saharan Africa today, the influence of Christian principles may permeate the continent and develop men and women who will rule with the fear of God.

Many of our listeners drew our attention to the News of Islamic militant killings from sub-Saharan Africa countries and it has been very disheartening. The heartlessness in killing Christians whose only crime is believing in Jesus Christ as their personal savior. On June 26, 2023, Usman Buda, a butcher was killed on a Sunday in Sokoto State’s Gwandu district. Mr. Buda was alleged to have blasphemed the Holy Prophet Muhammad during an argument with another trader in the market. Immediately, local Islamic mobs gathered and stoned Buda to death. The police who were deployed arrived late. We pray for the family of the late Buda asking God to provide comfort and strength to them. In his remarks, the governor of Sokoto State Ahmed Aliya remarked after the incident, “The present administration will not take the issue of blasphemy lightly, and will deal decisively with anyone found guilty of any act aimed at degrading the personality of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), in line with the provision of Islamic law.’

We thank God for religious freedom. We thank God for Africanpathways.org and for the shortwave radio that propagates the messages of Jesus Christ to 41 countries of sub-Saharan Africa two times daily. We pray blessings for every listener of our program.
