There are over 42.68 million people living in Algeria. 96% of the population follows the Sunni Islam and 1.3% belong to the Shia Islam. There are 48 provinces and over 1,500 communities and the official state religion of Algeria is Islam. In May 2019, a listener who has consistently heard the gospel of Jesus Christ through our shortwave radio wrote from Algeria. He said, “I want to thank you about the good programs. I am following your wonderful radio program at most of the times in the week. Thanks, my friends and l love you.” The writer provided his address and ask for follow up. How wonderful!
Another listener wrote from the United Arab Emirates with these words, “Glad to send this email regarding your broadcast I heard in English. I live in Sharjah emirate of the UAE and have been listening to your program many times. I am very pleased to enjoy God’s word and beautiful songs.” What makes these two listeners unique? They are both from a predominantly Islamic religious region. Secondly, they both appreciate our programs and desire to learn more about Jesus.
