Leah Sharibu is in the news again. Remember when Boko Haram abducted a 16-year-old Christian lady on February 19, 2018, from the Government Girls Secondary School in Dapchi, northeast Nigeria along with over 100 other schoolgirls by Boko Haram? The terrorist groups later freed Leah’s schoolmates but she was held back for refusing to denounce Christianity as a precondition for her release. Christians all over the world prayed for Leah but in mid-2019, news came that Boko Haram had killed Leah.
On January 26, 2020, Ahmad Salkida, a journalist with access to the terror group Boko Haram, disclosed that Leah Sharibu is alive and now a mother to a baby boy by a top commander of Boko Haram. The terror organization Boko Haram continues to attack Christians in Nigeria at an alarming rate. On Christmas day, December 25, 2019, eleven Christian hostages were killed in the Borno State of Nigeria and according to The Islamic State West African Province, (ISWAP) another terrorist group affiliated with Boko Haram, they killed those Christians to avenge for the killing of their leaders in Iraq and Syria. On January 3, 2020, Boko Haram insurgents abducted the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the State of Adamawa, Lawan Andimi, and later killed him on January 7, 2020.
World Christian Broadcasting continues to receive numerous letters monthly from Nigerians living in the Moslems states and who listen to African Pathway Radio programs. We refuse to publish their names for the security of their lives. Please continue to pray for the country of Nigeria.
