Enoch Thweatt, a native Tennessean and a life-long missionary to the Chinese people, passed away on July 8, 2024. Enoch had been a dear co-worker, supporter, friend, and donor to World Christian Broadcasting (WCB) for nearly thirty years. His passing has certainly stopped many people for a moment to think about the blessings God intended for us to have through this godly servant. Enoch’s life deeply influenced Edward and Sharon Short, Edward and Salina Ho, and Shumei Lee, who are the entire Chinese Language Service for the past forty years.

Few people know that Enoch brought many Chinese Christians to visit WCB. Most of those visitors were from the Far East. American missionaries to the Chinese were also connected with WCB due to Enoch’s efforts. Their visits gave us about thirty interviews, which we still play from time to time in our daily radio programs because of their eternal values. Enoch and Jeannine had personally contributed to several interviews for us in that they gave practical wisdom and advice on the subjects of family, marriage, and parenting. Shumei and Salina both scripted and recorded dear memories and inspirations from the Thweatt’s. Enoch’s book, Gathering the Cloud, the electronic version, has been available since last April on our Chinese website. Enoch has truly blessed the Chinese listeners through program materials he helped produced directly and indirectly. His Christ-liked impact and personal blessing will continue to go on through radio broadcasts through World Christian Broadcasting for years to come.

New production

Julie attends the Chinese church in Nashville of which we are also members. She is a trained professional consoling specialist. In her blog she had already been introducing psychology to people in China and encouraging people not to be afraid of approaching professional consolers for help dealing with emotional struggles. Julie started contributing scripts about equipping parents to learn healthy parenting methods, children’s development stages, and what their needs are as they mature. We are grateful for Julie that the Lord brings her our way to help enrich our program content serving our listeners.

Editing and narrating the Redemption Story series are going well. Philip is helping more in editing the scripts and his editing is good. The devotional comments on the Book of Luke are on chapter nine right now. We appreciate brother Gao’s devotion to Chinese people in helping their understanding and appreciation of Jesus. Salina and Shumei have finished lesson six of our Discipleship Training material, introducing practical help in How to Know the Will of God in our lives.

Salina’s Trip to Taiwan

Salina left for Taiwan earlier this month. Besides attending a Class Reunion, she hopes to bring in fresh program material produced by other Christians in Taiwan. Reading the Bible in style of Drama is a new approach. Salina talked to the producer and tried to learn how to obtain authorization using this Bible Reading style. She will also reconnect with professional marriage consolers and seek to learn how they could help our radio listeners. Please pray for her efforts, safety, and health.
