Happy New Year! I’m very excited to see another year and we thank God the life giver for considering us worthy to live and see 2023. The New Year comes with new energy, better plans, and hope for greater things. At World Christian Broadcasting and African Pathways programs, we plan to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nooks and crannies of sub-Saharan Africa in 2023. These are a few things we plan to incorporate into our broadcasting. We want to bring in more African presenters and scriptwriters who can write and present in the language and culture our listeners will relate to and appreciate. We want to present through the prism of the cultural milieu of our listeners. For example, the listener from sub-Saharan Africa understands “widow’s mite in Mark 12:41-44 and Luke 21:1-4” differently from the listener in the Western world. The story of the prodigal son going back to the father in Luke 15:11-32 resonates with a different interpretation from the understanding point of view of a listener from sub-Saharan Africa. We want to present Jesus that fits in their culture so they can appreciate it more. We want to present more programs on salvation pointing to Jesus as the way, truth, and life and baptism as obedience leading to the receiving of the power of the Holy Spirit that will propel the believer throughout his/her Christian Journey.
In 2022, African pathways presented a two-hour broadcast daily to millions living in sub-Sahara Africa. By December 2022, a total of 512 programs were presented on different subjects including African proverbs and how the words of African elders relate to the scripture. We presented programs on health issues affecting people living in sub-Saharan Africa, marriages, we had deep biblical discussions on several different subjects, lessons on finances, childlessness, dowry in the African context, husbands respect their wives, monogamy and other major issues affecting the people living in the sub-Saharan Africa. We shall improve our broadcasts in 2023 including lessons on seeking refuge in God under terrorism, lessons on kidnappings, and other new problems affecting sub-Saharan Africa. 2023 is very promising and we are working hard to add more value in our already existing programs to propagate the messages of Jesus Christ both in the short-wave radio program and on the Internet through www.africanpathways.org.
We pray you to remain blessed and tune in to our programs as we celebrate 2023. More grace and more blessings.
