Once in a while, we have listeners who are short-wave radio enthusiasts writing to express their love for the African Pathways radio program. They write and ask for acknowledgment of the reception card (QLS). Many of them are very detailed in the description of the particular program they listened to; they comment on the music, the word of God as it was taught, the speakers they heard preaching the word of God, the quality of the broadcast, and many other things. We find this very fascinating to see the word of God reaching out to the audience the producers did not target.
Last month three such enthusiasts wrote, “I love the music I heard and how detailed the word of God was taught, and I know you were aiming to an African audience, but I received it here in North America. Thank you, I am Tim from Forth Smith, Arkansas in the USA.” We also had Costa Constantinides, originally from South Africa, who listened to the African Pathway Radio program from the Island of Cyprus. He writes, “I regularly tune to your Christian broadcast station, and I am writing to inform you that I received your Radio station with excellent signals; I am blessed.” Another letter came from Juan A. Bertolin, writing to us from Almassora, Spain, expressing with joy the reception of the African Pathways radio program from his short-wave radio, stating the frequency, time, and date, describing the receiver antenna, and many other details.
Jesus presented an allegory about the kingdom of heaven in Matthews 13:3-9.
“3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, which did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no roots. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, producing a crop—a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
The parable demonstrates growth and how the word of God gets into every kind of heart (the path, rocky places, thorns, and good soil). At World Christian Broadcasting, we sow/spray/scatter seeds (the word of God) worldwide. When we least expected, people we least expected, countries we least expected, and audience we least expected, reports would come to us that people are listening to the word of God. We dedicate the month of April to all our shortwave broadcast enthusiasts who listened to African Pathway radio program.
