Since the beginning of the corona virus pandemic, a year ago, Brazil is experiencing the worst moment. There are crowded hospitals, ICU beds almost at the limit of patients, some states with 100% occupancy. A variant of the virus was found in Manaus, in the north of the country and since then we have been experiencing a huge growth in infections and deaths.

In the last few days, the daily average has been 2,500 killed by Covid 19. States like Minas Gerais where I live decreed curfew after 8 pm. Only essential stores and services are functioning and restricted. To enter establishments, we use public transport and walk through the streets. Masks are mandatory.

Vaccination is still in a very slow process, with vaccines lacking and until the moment I write only health professionals and elderly people over 75 years old have been vaccinated. We really live the worst moment since the corona virus arrived in the country, so I ask all our listeners and loved ones who accompany us to pray for Brazil and for the whole world that faces this virus.

On the contrary side of this bad news, we also have good news about our radio program broadcasts. In the month of March we completed 3 years since we started our work for the Portuguese speaking public. It is 3 years in which I joined the World Christian Broadcasting team and I am very grateful to be part of this team. God is so good!

Another good news this month comes from a city in Minas Gerais called Patos de Minas, from there came an email from Igor Monteiro, who tells us in his email:

“Hello my name is Igor Monteiro, I live near Belo Horizonte, just 63 miles from the capital. I am still young, I am 17 years old and I am in high school. As I said I am 17 years old, I know it may seem strange at my age, but I have liked the radio since I was 13 years old. I receive HF, VHF, UHF and GHz … I receive satellites, SW transmitters, detect rays and meteors via radio, I already have some experience with radio. My father is a retired police officer, nothing related to amateur radio, but my interest arose when I saw the police radio equipment, I liked it a lot and got attached to the radio.”

After a few days of talking to Igor, he agreed to receive correspondence courses. These courses have already been sent and he has already confirmed receipt. Now the next step is to accompany him in his development and help him in his knowledge of the Word of God, waiting for him to want to be baptized and have his life given to Jesus.

I also received this month contact from Esdras from the northeast of Brazil. He is one of our many listeners from the northeast of Brazil and as Igor Monteiro he also accepted to receive correspondence courses on the Bible and has already started his studies. Esdras in addition to radio listening was also an employee of Radio A Voz Cristiana (La Voz), listening, recording and sending to the radio for many years. Today he listens only because he likes and loves to listen to radio on short waves from all over the world.

The month of March was also special as we celebrated the fifth anniversary of Madagascar World Voice. Construction began in March 2006 and was completed in 2016. May God bless everyone who has engaged in this wonderful project.

Finally, in this world we will have good days and bad days, we need to hold on to the good things and move on in the love of the Lord, letting go of what gets in the way and moving on. I want to end with these two verses:

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33 – NKJV

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 -NKJV

May God bless us in the mission of going to the target and helping others to get there too. A great Easter for everyone!
