It is hard to believe it has been over a year since the Covid-19 appeared out of nowhere and turned the world upside down. I cannot think of anything in my lifetime that affected everyone everywhere like this. It is a bitter reminder that life is short, and we are so vulnerable.
With the spread of the virus, social distancing and the fear that gripped the hearts of people, it was almost impossible to get anybody to come and sit in a confined studio booth to record radio programs. However, one of our contributors in the middle east informed our team there that he wanted to record a special program about Covid-19. He titled it “Beat the Covid!”
It turned out that he and his entire family had contracted the virus, went through a tough time of quarantine and isolation. Eventually, they recovered, praise the Lord. He was anxious and excited to share his experience with others going through this horrible experience and those living in fear they might get it.
This was a great example of our programs, where practical facts meet spiritual truths. The person talked about his own personal experience and gave some great insight on how to go through this painful time of isolation. He presented the medical facts but added a spiritual dimension as he talked about how he and his family prayed and sought God’s will in their lives.
Many people liked this down-to-earth, or we should say up-to-heaven program as it touched their own lives, gave them hope and prompted them to re-evaluate their priorities. We pray for our listeners that they may remain safe and healthy, but more importantly that they would have the guarantee of salvation and eternal life in Jesus Christ.
“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.” — Matthew 9:35
