The Names of God, each powerful and meaningful, we study all of them in a series of programs and today we talk about Yahweh, which means “The Lord.” Yahweh is derived from the Hebrew word for “I AM,” it is the proper name of the divine person, coming from the verb which means to “exist,” “be.” When God told Moses to go to Pharaoh and to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses was scared. He needed reassurance, he needed to know God was bigger than this problem, that He would carry them through, that even if people wouldn’t listen to him, they would listen to the One who sent him.
We continue our study of the Old Testament. Led by the presence of Jehovah, God was manifested in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. The Children of Israel left Egypt and began their journey to the Promised Land. When Pharaoh cornered them with his army by the Red Sea, the LORD tested their faith and showed His almighty power to deliver His people by parting the Red Sea. The Children of Israel crossed over on dry ground, and the pursuing army of Pharaoh was completely destroyed by the waters. Faith is trust, not in self, but in God. This event became for Old Testament Israel a picture of God’s saving power and salvation which found completeness in Jesus and the cross.
Minor Prophets in the Bible. In this ongoing series we talk about Amos. Readers of the Bible may be familiar with stories about Moses, Samuel, David, Elijah, and even major prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel, but what about the minor prophets, including Amos, Hosea, Micah, and Zephaniah? It’s not surprising that people are less familiar with these Biblical figures and in our program we try to close this gap of knowledge.
Shortwave communication around the world and its importance in modern world. We talk about dx-ing, emergency broadcasting, ham radio and why the shortwave spectrum remains densely populated with broadcasters even with development of Internet and satellite communication in our programming “That “old” radio.”
We have a number of projects under development that might be interesting to you. Come and download numerous Christian books, listen to our programs, see several video lessons based on Russian Christian art, take a look at pictures of beautiful Alaska, the home of our first radio station, KNLS.
